Next up, a 50/50 mix of Valejo Flat Yellow and Averland Sunset, to slowly build up the depth of yellow color.

Mid-Tone Progress!
Been picking away at my Burna' Bombah.
So far my progress is: prime black, layer of Averalnd Sunset over the entire model, layer of Devlan Mud over the entire model, mid-tone with Averland Sunset, leaving the spaces between plates. This also give the armor a 'worn' affect as the paint does not dry 100% evenly and shows some of the darker shaded color below.
Left Side = Averland Sunset + Devlan Mud Right Side = Mid-tone of Averland Sunset

Order - Build! Build! Build!
I've generated 4 more new objectives in line with the objective secured missions in the 7th edition book. I like making objectives because it's an easy way to convince myself to make scenery and it's fun.
Scatterfield
Scatterfield
Grav-Wave Generator
Booby Traps!
Targeting Relay
Aaaaand... last but not least. While rooting around in my Bitz-Box I found the 2007 Games Day limited release Orc Warboss! Forgot I had him .... I thought he'd make an excellent Ork Big Mek so I set about modifying him.
Introducing... Big Mek Rusty Wotnotz!!
Equipped with a "Power Klaw", Boss Pole, 'Eavy Armor, Da' Fixer Upperz and a bucket of attitude!

Bitz Box Bingo!
Small update.
I've done a bit more work on the Morkanaut. Right now I am adding another layer of yellow to the armor to enrich the color and add a layer of depth.

Also, I've been picking away at my 'Sky Fire' objective... it's kind of a Bitz Box Bingo sort of situation but ... it's coming together.
I added an Atari-esque joystick controller... because I thought it was funny.

Schools Out!
Progress on the Morkanaut!
Base coated with Averland Sun
Washed with Agrax Earthsahde
Started mid-tone with Averland Sun.
So far I've "mid-toned" both legs, and the claw of Mork. Working on the body now.
Oh, and his base is pretty much done.

New Project - Morkanaut
Started building a Morkanaut for my Ork army.
I've done the basic construction and laid down the base color.
I'm going to paint it in several sub-assemblies and then assemble it all at the end.

Deff Speederz DONE!
Phew! Long project that I have been picking away at for months.
The speeders themselves were done about 3 weeks ago, but it took longer than I thought to receive the bases from Dragonforge. Dragonforge is a great copany and does great work but essentially there is only so much he can do in a day.
Here are the finished Deff Speederz!
There are 6 different speederz, each one has it's own custom markings and identifying glyph.
Mek Speeder
Double Down Speeder
Deff Speederz compared to GW AoBR Deff Koptas

The Deff Speederz are a little big but... I like the way they came out.

A little Update
Progress on the "Deff Skimmaz"
I primed the models black and then did some masking. I wanted to give each skimmer a personalized look, as if each pilot had taken the time to mark his skimmer. I masked out different patterns of black stripes along the fuselage and wings of each skimmer and a circle near the front.
Once the masking was done I painted the skimmers with a base coat of Averland Sunset. I'm just looking for coverage here, it's a first step in. After the base coat had dried I peeled off the masks and painted the personal glyphs and the front engine intakes on each skimmer in Khorne Red and then washed the entire model with Agrax Earthshade.
This establishes a good base color with shade. I then starting layering a watered down Averland Sunset on the existing yellow portions, this will be my "mid-tone".

You can see I've started to block out a mid-tone color in the front of this skimmer. The paint color looks fairly consistent here, but it's not and I prefer it that way. Because I have watered down the Averland Sunset there are spots that are obviously thinner than others. I encourage this. These are Ork vehicles after all and I am trying to convey the idea of "used".
More updates soon... I hope.

I recently polished off the Grots I've been working on... here are some work table shots. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. This brings my total Grot count to 42... actually I have more Grots than slugga boys (24) or shoota boys (36), which is a little shameful.
Back to working on the "Deff Koptas".
